About Us

Omid Master was born in the Province of Shiraz in Iran formerly known as Persia and came to Australia with his family at 2 years of age. He has fond memories of assisting his father at his Persian Carpet store in Armadale during his teenage years while attending Camberwell Grammar School. These weekends spent at the store remain etched in his mind, where he vividly recalls selling numerous rugs in the showroom.

Omid's journey continued as he pursued a Bachelor of Business degree at Monash University, supplemented by an honours thesis that delved into his profound interest in the Persian Rug and Music industries.

With his deep-rooted family and cultural connections in the Persian Carpet trade, Omid inaugurated his inaugural showroom in Cairns, a venture that subsequently moved to Port Douglas. The Port Douglas showroom attracted an international clientele, drawing enthusiasts from all over the world.

During his time in Queensland, Omid was dedicated to continuous learning and pursued a certificate course in interior design. His expertise in coordinating colours and synchronizing designs, combined with his extensive knowledge of the artistic heritage of the Persian Empire, empowered him to create truly distinctive living spaces. His collaborative efforts extended to various professionals, including interior designers who greatly benefited from his insights and visa versa.

Significantly, a substantial portion of Omid's clientele, particularly from Melbourne, stands out. Operating under the name Master Rugs Melbourne, Omid has firmly established his presence as a notable figure in the industry. His adeptness in identifying and acquiring designs and palettes that resonate with Australian tastes propelled his business to the forefront of both the interior design scene and the realm of rug and interior design across the country.

Master’s focus is now on continuing to provide the best quality, designs and service to continue to build his brand’s reputation for style, honesty integrity and reliability for customer satisfaction, repeat business and word-of-mouth referrals at a new private location by appointment only.
